Luke Buxton Graphic Design

A little bit about me...

About me…

Hi, I'm Luke. An independent graphic designer from the UK. I work with a wide range of clients all over the world who understand the value of good design and help businesses and brands bring their ideas to life through visual thinking, creative problem solving and high quality design.

A lot of my work focuses heavily on creative typography, from hand drawn lettering to custom wordmarks. I believe that unique typography can really set a brand apart from the competition, so I always try to introduce an element of this into my design projects. Its a great way to get a brand message across, almost like illustrating with letters.

I am always interested in taking on new projects and collaborating with brands and artists. If you'd like to work together please get in touch.

I believe that graphic design should hit three criteria...
1. Be clear and concise. In an increasingly visual world people look rather than read, and you only have a tiny amount of time to get across what your brand is about. Keeping things simple and uncomplicated is the key to achieving this.
2. Create an impact. Good design should lead to positive results. Whether it's an increase in commercial activity, more industry recognition or differentiating yourself positively from the competition, good design should have a lasting impact.
3. Look Amazing. Isn't that really what its all about? We're a visual species, so it makes sense that we would want to surround ourselves with beautiful things to look at. Who wants to live in a world full of bad design? Or worse, boring design!

Logo Design. A logo is only one way of expressing your brand, but its a good place to start. A logo is a visual distillation of your brand values and personality, a single mark that helps people make an educated guess as to what you represent and stand for. This leads on to...
Identity Design. There are countless books out there about brand identity, and it means different things to different people. The brand identity service I offer is to create the visual elements of your brand, from logo, typography and imagery and how this translates across different forms of media outputs and customer interaction.
Visual Direction. Strong standout, either in-store, online or in print is so important in a crowded marketplace. I can help bring your product, event or marketing collateral to life, either as part of a complete brand identity redesign, or as a stand-alone project.
Apparel Graphics. I started out in the fashion industry, and I've never really left, consistently designing t-shirt graphics for almost ten years. From large high street brands to small independent start-ups across a whole range of markets such as streetwear, surf, outdoors and performance sports.

Don't just take my word for it.
Luke is an awesome designer. He listens and really thinks about the brief. He is clear on his way of working, communicates his process and sets expectation. And then he delivers, going above and beyond my expectations every time. I've worked with him on a range of projects so far and hope to work with him on many more!“

I spent almost ten years working in-house at high paced lifestyle brands and at well respected design agencies in London before setting up my own design studio. Having this experience means I can offer the high quality creative standards of an agency but with a more personal and cost effective service. Some of the bigger brands I've worked with or for include Adidas, Boden, British Gypsum, Burberry, Canon, Clarks, Diesel, G-Star, Hiut, Hugo Boss, Hummel, Hurley, IICF, Jack Wolfskin, Joules, Lee Jeans, Lululemon, M&S, Morrisons, Napapijri, Odlo, Porsche, Puma, Superdry, The Book People, Thorntons, Victoria's Secret, Wrangler, Zalaris.
